What is marine engine?
|

| Engines used to propel ships, tugs and boats at sea are called marine engines. Marine engines are always at sea for several days. Hence a high efficiency diesel engine is provided to rotate the propellers. These engines are specially designed to withstand oscillations. Ship machinery,swiss replica watches
equipment, propeller, galley, kitchen, air condition etc. should be powered by electricity only. Sometimes the main engine generates electricity. The propellers are rotated by electric motors and the same electricity is used for the entire ship. Medium diesel generators (2 to 5 nos) are provided while standing at sea shore. |

Marine Engine Governors

Diesel engine RPM is controlled by governors. A large ship's main engine is used to turn heavy propellers, so the governors are large with high torque. If any governor fails, the ship will be stopped at sea if the ship is not having spare governor our engineers will go to the ship to attend to the problem
Main engine Governors are Woodward make UG 40, PGA 200, PGA 500, PGG 200, PGEG 200 etc.,Small diesel engines are used for generators with general governors. Ship crews have spare governors for immediate replacement. Generator Engine Governors Woodward Make UG8, PSG, SG Actuators EG 3 P, EG 6 P, TM 25, UGA. Europa makes 1102, 1134.
Some ships produce steam from the main engine exhaust temperature. The steam is used for cooking purposes and to turn a turbine to generate electricity. Governors are mostly woodward TG-13 ,PSG Europa EHP-34 , 1102. Japan KIKI, ZEXEL.
